Help The Homeless

Before I start this post, this isn't me looking for attention and praise for doing something nice, this is me trying to raise awareness to the homeless and hoping that once you've read this post you'd like to take part in something similar! Help the homeless isn't a registered charity, its just a local page in Bristol. However in this post I will be referring to it as a charity! People donate old clothes, shoes and electricals to the homeless, those living in hostels, shelters or awaiting accommodation in temporary housing. As its Christmas time I have seen so many people make Christmas boxes to give out to the homeless, so me and mum decided to make some ourselves!

These Christmas boxes are made from generosity and kindness,  any donations are very much appreciated! People have put all different sorts of things in their boxes and this is what me and my mum have put in ours!

Thermal Socks
Gloves
Disposable Towel
Hat
Toothbrush
Toothpaste
Wet Wipes
Chocolate Biscuits/Macthmakers
Candy Canes
Deodorant
Christmas Cracker

It really is the little things! I'm currently making a few doggie boxes too!! We found this page through Facebook so if you are interested in doing something like this for your area I am sure you will be able to find a page on Facebook! It literally breaks my heart when I see people on the streets, even yesterday when it was snowing I was trying to tell Jake that I was sad it was snowing because the homeless people will be freezing and wet and I started to cry. I've always said if I ever won the lottery I would buy a massive barn and set up a scheme where homeless people will be paired with a dog (that I have rescued from the dogs home) and that will be there buddy and they will be paid take them on walks and stuff, idk something like that anyway! Every little really does really help and the kindest gesture goes a long way! I get sent a lot of clothes to promote on Instagram (I do promote them on Instagram), but a lot of the tops and jumpers I then donate to this charity and older clothes that I don't wear anymore or that I've never worn! (yes I do sale dresses ect on depop but a lot of jumpers I get sent, or products that I don't particularly like / wear I donate to this charity.)  If the clothes aren't sutible to give to the homeless then this charity sell the clothes and the money they make goes towards sleeping bags, appliances, food  literally anything for those who are on the streets, in hostels/shelters and housing accommodation!

I hope this post encourages other people to be generous to those less fortunate, I think it is such a nice idea to do! Put a smile on someones face!!! Please comment below if you have any other ideas what we can put in these boxes or what else we can do to help the homeless!!

Thankyou for reading this post, Love Lacey xx
