fake tan

It's the that time of year when all your natural tan has faded from the summer and your looking all pale, sunbeds are bad for you and you have one option left.. FAKE TAN!! One of the many loves of my life!  I always get asked what tan I use and if my tan is natural! I do have naturally olive skin anyway so when the sun comes out so does the natural tan, however in the winter wow I am Casper the friendly ghost for sure! I am a lazy tanner, as in I really cba to take my time when I tan, I literally just chuck it on. The amount of times I've gone to bed thinking wow, I'm nervous for the result in the morning. Some tans wash off completely, some tans wash off with an even finish, some tans are abit patchy, it is so hard to find the perfect tan!!!! So here are my favourite fake tans (I have linked them below also!!!)

Bondi Sands Tanning Foam; Ultra Dark  - First things first this tan smells insane, I think it is so hard to find a tan that actually has a nice scent because lets face it most tans smell of biscuits! I use this tan all the time now!! I put it on at night with a mitt, let it develop and shower it off in the morning! It washes off with such an even finish!!! On my self it lasts about 2-4 days before it starts to go patchy so it is perfect for a 'Prep for tomorrow night out tan'
Bondi Sands Tanning Foam Ultra Dark    (All Bondi Sands is on offer at superdrug as you read this <<< That's the link to it!!!)

Bondi Sands Liquid Gold Oil; Ultra Dark - This is my face tan! I hate putting mousse tans on my face because I never get the result I want!! I always seem to have brown cheeks and forehead but white nose and chin! But not with this one! This tan comes in a spray bottle and I apply it with a fluffy soft blusher brush, I also do my neck and sometimes chest with this tan and brush too because it gives such a flawless finish!! I apply this every 6 days to my face for that base tan! I would say this last about 2-3 days, its that 'I need a base tan to my face before I put my foundation on' tan! ALSO!!!! This is such a nice tan that when I do my no makeup look I literally just use this tan as my base! It also dries super quick!!!!

Bondi Sands Everyday Tanning Milk - So you get the idea that I just love Bondi Sands right!? So this tan doesn't have a shade, it is just like a gradual tinted moituirser! I use this to keep my tan lasting longer! The more you moisturise the longer your tan lasts! And when a moisturiser has an extra tanning boost its literally a god send!! This is such a nice product to use for everyday use! I just apply this with my hands and wipe my palms in a dry towel after!!

Crazy Angel Liquid Tan; Medium/Dark - They only have this tan in Light/Medium and Medium/Dark, I love a dark dark tan so when I seen they only do Medium/Dark I was like mmm not to sure it will be dark enough, but it really is!! So I use this brand tan to spray tan with and the results were always perfect, the base is brown and not orange which is so hard to find in spraytan solution that's why I decided to give the self tan a try! Liquid tans can be abit of a pain to use but I suffer with dry skin and some fake tans can really dry my skin out and make it patchy, so I find when I use a liquid tan it just sits better on my skin! I still apply this tan with a mitt but you just have to be quite quick when you apply this tan because it sinks in quick! I let this tan develop through the night and shower it off in the morning! This tan lasts 5-7 tans which is perfect for the 'Don't have time for a spray tan but I'm going away for a few days and need a good tan' tan!!

St Moriz 5 in 1 Tanning Mousse; Dark - I swear that everyone swears by this tan!!! Isn't this like all girls go to quick fix cheap as chips tan!?! ( Apart from me!!!)I'm bigging up this tan as if I use it all the time, but I actually don't use it very often! Everyone I speak to loves the tan but I can't use it, It never looks nice on me unless I build it up day after day! So this isn't actually one of my favourite tans, this is just on behalf of all the beautiful bronzed girls I have spoken too! I have seen they do an oil and a spray mist that I am going to try and see how I get on with that!!! If anyone has any recommendations for this tan please comment below! I actually get so pissy when I ask girls what tan they use and say this one because I'm like ?!?!?!?!?!?!?! how do you look so good!! so golden!!! I never look golden after this tan!! But everyone else bloody does that's why I'm putting this tan in this post because I like to share other peoples recommendations too!!

Hawaiin  Tropic Oil Spray ; Okay I know that this isn't a fake tanning oil, however for those who don't like to use fake tan, this is the oil I use to sunbathe and the occasional sunbed (I use sunbeds before holiday just to prepare my skin for the sun, also I don't want to be lily white on the first bikini day you know what I mean!) You do really have to go careful when using tanning oils in the sun, I am lucky that my skin rarely burns and I do tan well however I still use suncream on the first few days of holiday and then I use this oil! There is a low protecting agent in this product, but not strong enough to use it as a suncream all day every day on a holiday! I literally just use it to give my tan a boost on the last couple of sun days!

If anyone has any recommendations on different tans or would like me to try some new ones to post about just comment below!!

Hope you enjoyed this post!! Love Lacey xxx

  1. The active ingredient in most sunless tanning products is the color additive dihydroxyacetone (DHA). When applied, dihydroxyacetone reacts with dead cells in the skin's surface layer to temporarily darken the skin and simulate a tan. The coloring typically wears off after a few days.
