my lip journey

Lip fillers are like the new craze at the moment, the bigger the better! 
However this is my story on my lip journey! I wanted my lips done for about 3 years before having them done for the first time last December. I didn't want them done because it was the new thing or because I seen a girl with juicy lips on instagram. I wanted them done because I was unhappy with the size and shape of my lips, especially when I wore no makeup and couldn't over draw my little lips! I didn't want the whole duck lip look, I just wanted natural nicely shaped lips! My mum was like no Lacey you are not getting your lips done and I was like yes mum, I am. Her argument for me not getting them done was because they are expensive and I could spend that money on my teeth ( I want my teeth done too and saving to get new nashers i will do a post on that as well)! So to keep my mum happy I didn't get my lips done until a company called EF Medi Spa contacted me about collaborating with them, I was allowed to choose my own treatment and I chose lipfillers!! I was like omg this is fate!! So I told my mum and she shat herself because she had no argument then!

Lip Day
Today's the day!! I get my new lips!! I was so so excited, a little bit nervous but very excited! I spoke to so many girls who already had lip fillers and they said to go for it its amazing, its nice to have plump, fuller lips and to smile and still have a top lip! So off I went, with my very pissy mother because even though she was against it, she wasn't going to let her 22 year old daughter go alone no way..  I had my consultation and we agreed that 1ml was the perfect amount of filler for my lips! So here goes... OH MY FUCK IT HURT SO MUCH!!!! No one told me this!?!?! Not one person said that it hurt?!?! I felt like I could take pain but omg wow that was next level! I thought I broke every single bone in my mums hand I was squeezing it so tight!! However pain is beauty and at first when I seen my lips they were very very bruised, I bruise so easily anyway so I expecting it but not gonna lie, a part of me was like wow! But the lip lady explained that they will be swollen etc gave me my after care and off I went! I was very sore after it the injections, I was struggling to open my mouth wide enough to eat! And when Jake came over he described me as the monster off monsters inc (You know the one who works with Randell and tries to put Boo in the scream machine but Sully saves Boo and the other monster is on the scream machine, yea thats the one he was on about).. He wasn't the happiest! Especially when I went to sleep and once I woke up they had doubled in size!! (So when you lye flat you get a lot of water attention to your face which is why in the morning you usually have puffy eyes and in lip filler girls case.. Puffy lips!!)


The next few days
Oh my god who am I! I love my new lips! Look at me everyone and my new big lips! I was still bruised, I think my bruises lasted about a week and my lips were very tender too but who cares because I got juicy ass lips!! Some people do recovery differently, I spoke to some girls who had no bruising and no swelling and I spoke to others who had lots of swelling and bruising just like me!! Its completely normal!












4 Months Later
Okay its time to plump these babies back up! I have naturally uneven lips, my right side is a lot more steeper than my left side and my cupids bow is uneven aswell! So I just wanted them more evened out and a little more juicier! I went back to EF Medi Spa ALONE!! Yes alone!!! My mum was out shopping so couldn't come with me, however she rang me three times on my way to the clinic to say she will leave shopping, meet me there and hold my hand! I was like no hun your fine honestly, but I was shitting myself because of how painful it was last time! Anyway I had my consultation again and we decided that I should only have 0.5ml this time! On went the numbing cream and I waited for about 30 minutes for it to kick in! Once I felt numb the lip lady started to inject, I couldn't believe it.. It was near enough pain free.. Like yea you could feel it but it wasn't painful like last time at all!! What a treat!!! Off I went again with my happy lips plump lips! My thing was that i was so happy they were bigger than my original thin ass lips that I didn't care what shape they were I was just happy they were big!!

6 Months Later

Dermaplus Aesthetics (@dermaplusaethetics) contacted me via instagram, Sophie (nicest girl ever, the queen of lips) explained that she has many clients in Bristol for lip fillers and just needed a space to hold a lip clinic one day every 6 weeks and asked if she could have my makeup studio! So down she came! The nicest girl ever honestly! I stayed in the studio for a few clients just to watch and listen in etc, the consultations she was giving these girls were so in depth and thorough i was so impressed! Some of the girls came down from London, Cardiff and Plymouth! I thought wow this girl must be good if these girls are travelling this far! And wow was she good! The lips she was 
doing were perfect! That was it then, I was like PLEAAAASEEEEEEEE can you do my lips for me! Jake and my mum were like no you don't need them done.. But who cares about their opinion am I right? I explained to Sophie that I previously had 1.5ml all together in my lips and I just wanted them a little more even again and that I wanted my bottom lip bit fuller on the right hand side because it looked abit more flatter! At first, before my consultation I thought I was going to have to have another ml put in to achieve the look I wanted, but nu uh! I couldn't believe she only injected 0.4ml into my lips, pain free, no swelling, no bruising, just perfect lips! I can not go on about her enough! She was that good that my dad didn't call me Pete Burns, My mum didn't roll her eyes and my boyfriend wasn't scared to kiss me incase they popped! People actually think I have naturally nice shaped lips now and thats exactly what I wanted!! I can't wait to have another little top up by her again just for volume!!!!



I think its really important when you are having something cosmetically done to do your research and to be so sure of what you want, don't get something done because its a trend or the in thing, get it done for you and only you!
